Coby has been with us for 18 days now, and I have no idea where that time has gone! I had to go back to work last Thursday after my paternity leave ended, which was a wrench, as I enjoyed every last second of my leave!
In the past 18 days, Coby has grown lots and got a lot heavier. He is very healthy and his left foot is starting to come around to a more normal angle now, and at this point, you wouldn’t notice at all that it is slightly twisted. He is very aware and when he has his eyes open, he is looking around all over the place. He can turn his head around to look towards things and when you watch him doing this, you can practically see him taking it all in and learning.
At about day 11, he started to lift his head as well! This seemed quite early but he was doing it and has been ever since. These last few days, he is also pushing up on his arms! So when you hold him to your chest, he pushes his arms to lean back, and lifts his head so he can look around. He is very strong and very clever already!
His sleeping at night had been pretty good up until a couple of nights ago, when he has decided he wants to feed every hour or so. He is also fussing a lot in the night by grunting, stretching and making other such noises. This has led to us not settling for sleep, especially Kelly, as she has had to constantly feed him through the second half of the night! He does guzzle his milk so we think he may have wind all the time due to the gulping, which would obviously keep him disturbed.
He likes his cuddles at the moment as well, especially during they day. 😉
