Coby's Blog School,Year 4 Primary School

Primary School

Coby is now a proper little school boy!

He went in fine on his first day and looked very cute all dressed up in his school uniform, even though it looked a little big on him! The first week and a half, Coby was only in until 11:45, and didn’t cry once. After the first few days, he was even able to go in on his own and knew what he had to do when he got into his classroom (where to put his drink and book bag). He even had his first bit of home work towards the end of his first full week, which was to draw a picture of him and his family. He was very excited by this and did it without any tantrums – I wonder how long that will last!

This week, he is now staying in school until 12:45, so he is eating hot dinners each day. As Coby is very particularly with what he eats, we were quite worried about him not actually eating anything at all at school, so Kelly had a word with his teachers and they said they would keep an eye on what he eats. Surprisingly, he has apparently eaten most of his dinner on both days so far. He has chosen Jacket potato each time though, which is weird as he doesn’t like potato usually! He had some beans and sweetcorn with it yesterday! Tomorrow is roast dinner so we will see how he goes with that! He has been taking in grapes on most days for his morning snack as he doesn’t generally like the snacks they have on offer, unless it is apple! He also got his first reading book yesterday, which we read in the evening, so he has already taken it back and will get a new one today.

Last week, his teachers (Mrs Bond and Mrs Vanstone – same as who Aaron had and Ben had Mrs Bond as well in Blue Bears) came over in the early afternoon as they go out to the houses of all the parents. They said he had settled in well and will keep an eye on his speech as he still can’t say all his sounds correctly, although this is mostly due to him being lazy as if he stops and slows down, he can say the sounds properly.

Anyway, he has settled in really well but the main thing will be staying all day everyday starting from Friday, so we will see how he goes then. He certainly isn’t being worn out at school yet as he is very hyper when he gets home! 😉 We are both very proud of him!
