Well, what can I say about Coby! He has so much energy, it is really hard to keep up with him! 😉
After his audiology appointment the other week, it has been quite noticeable that his speech is improving rapidly. A few times in the past week or so, Kelly and I have stopped and looked at each other as he has said a sentence very clearly and pronounced all the words really well. He is also coming out with funny things still and likes shouting a lot!! He has also started making a loud growling noise for fun, which we are trying to stop him from doing as he will hurt his throat if he carries on much more with it! Dear me!
He still loves going to playgroup on a Tuesday and Wednesday with Kelly, and has a favourite dog toy at one of them whereby he has to get it first and gets in a major grump if another child gets hold of it first. As it is December now, they will be doing lots of fun Christmas crafts over the next few weeks, and then on the final session before Christmas, they are having a Christmas Party with Father Christmas handing out a present to each of them! All for free as well, though Kelly is going to bake some buns for the party.
At home, he is giving us much as he gets with Ben and Aaron but does get very stroppy when he doesn’t get what he wants! He tends to hit them a lot as well, so we are trying to cut that out, but it is because he gets frustrated but also because he wants the same cars to play with as Aaron! (and Aaron is very possessive with his cars!).
As mentioned above, he shouts a lot at the moment and is always talking, almost as much as Aaron! He is doing very well using the potty and has only had one wet night so far. He has taken to that really well and feels grown up wearing his little Paw Patrol pants, but he is also going through a daft stage where he enjoys getting his bum and willy out and chasing after us! haha! Of course, Coby and the other two think this is hilarious!
Sleep-wise, he is doing much better than he was but still doesn’t go through a whole night without waking up. He has had a tendency to shout a lot in his sleep as well, so we think he has been dreaming a lot. He wakes us up shouting (sometimes at Ben and Aaron) and then when we go in there, he is fast asleep still! He also ends up sleeping down the wrong end of the bed, and even sideways, on occasions, but he hasn’t really fallen out of bed at all. He rarely has a nap during the day now, mostly on days when we know we are going to have a late night or Ben and Aaron have swimming or football, otherwise he falls asleep in the car and then doesn’t sleep at bedtime. So he does get tired out a lot, but does go straight to sleep then after a story. I still tend to rock him in my arms to sleep and sing songs to him when I take him to bed (don’t really want to give that up, even though he is quite big now ;-( ), but Kelly tries to give him a quick cuddle and then put him straight down to sleep. He seems to be getting used to going off to sleep on his own now, and does so without issues in the car on trips out.
He is very polite and says ‘please’ and thank you’ mostly without prompting and it is very cute when he says it as he can’t quite pronounce the words properly. They usually come out more like ‘peas’ and ‘fan q’. He is much more polite than the other two though, so I hope he keeps it up!
Now that we have our Christmas Tree and decorations up, Coby is rather excited! He enjoyed helping put it all up, even though he got in the way a lot and put all the baubles in the same area and at the same height (as he couldn’t reach any higher!). He has been out and helped buy Christmas presents but has a tendency to then tell the person what has been bought! 😉 So this will be the last year when we can take him with us as next year he will be talking much better and will give it all away!
Food wise, he is currently obsessed with Weetabix and has it for breakfast, dinner and tea some days! Needless to say, his poo isn’t very nice the next day! He also loves beetroot (they all do actually) and would quite happily sit down and just eat that for a meal! Other than this, his favourites are fish fingers, chicken dippers, beans, pizza and Barney Bears (chocolate flavoured cake in the shape of a bear) but doesn’t really like rice or anything potato like. He obviously likes chocolate and is quite keen on Popcorn as well! 😉
Anyway, he is lovely little boy (when he wants to be!) and very cute still with an amazing smile. He is very independent (stamps his feet when he doesn’t get his way!) but is very cuddly and friendly when he wants to be, but is growing up too quickly for my liking!
